For retail therapy, many of the tourist-orientated towns outside Anchorage have unique gift shops and galleries with the best being found in the towns of Seward and Homer, both located on the Kenai Peninsula.
Dining
Fresh fish and wild game will be on most menus, as well as the all-time favorite hamburger. Or, if cooking yourself, be sure to visit one of the abundant summertime farmers' markets. Alaska may have a short growing season, but the many hours of sunshine make up for it.
Nightlife
In Anchorage you may find a few clubs, but most night time entertainment takes place at the abundance of brew pubs and breweries in Anchorage and the Kenai Peninsula.
