Travel to Las Vegas

From the biggest names in entertainment to people watching along the Strip, nickel slots and high stakes poker, all-you-can eat buffets and celebrity chef restaurants, outlet malls and haute couture… you name it and Las Vegas has got it, meaning a vacation to Las Vegas is perfect for just about everyone. And with convenient non-stop and one-stop flights on Sun Country Airlines, getting to Las Vegas and the start of a fun-filled Las Vegas vacation is as easy as finding fun in this entertainment capital of the world.

Things to Do in Las Vegas

See a Show

Las Vegas is truly the Entertainment Capital of the World, and no matter what kind of show you are looking for — dancing, singing, acrobatics, comedy, drama, adult, variety, tribute bands, magic — you’ll find it there. And some of the shows are such a production, you won’t be able to see them anywhere else than Vegas.

Freemont Street Experience

Located in Downtown Las Vegas, the Fremont Street Experience offers free nightly shows featuring 12.5 million lights and 550,000 watts of amazing sound. There are also free concerts and special events and the entire street is a pedestrian-only area, serving up a fun-filled festive atmosphere.

Gaming

Probably the #1 reason people come to Las Vegas. Your odds will be better at the downtown casinos, locals play at the off-Strip hotels, and for high-stakes play (and maybe some celebrity sightings), look to the higher end hotels, such as Bellagio and Wynn. And if you are new to gaming, several hotels offer lessons. If you plan to hang out at predominantly one casino, be sure to visit the player’s club desk and ask for a reward card.

Shopping

Oh, where to begin? For deals, head to the Las Vegas Outlet Center, south of the airport or to Las Vegas Premium Outlets, located near downtown. European designers can be found within the higher-end hotels, including Caesars Palace, Bellagio, and Wynn. And for just about everything else, head to Fashion Show Mall, located on the Strip and offering two million square feet of retail therapy.

Dining

No city on Earth offers the variety of restaurants as there is in Las Vegas. There are all-you-can-eat buffets, brew pubs and Irish pubs, sports bars, romantic restaurants, and celebrity chef restaurants by Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsey, Guy Fieri, Joel Robuchon, Thomas Keller, Todd English, Tom Colicchio, Wolfgang Puck, Emeril, Giada, and many, many more. The choices are endless and you can find something to eat 24 hours a day, so come hungry!

Nightlife

The clubs in Las Vegas are some of the best in the country – and sometimes the hardest to get into. If you know the club that you want to go to, you’ll have a better chance of bypassing the lines to get in by staying at the hotel where the club is located. Some hotels have two clubs, so you can double your fun. And clubs are constantly changing, so do your research and find out what’s hot now. And it’s true — tipping does help, so be generous and bring cash.

Transportation

  • Rideshare apps and Taxis are probably the best way to get around, but note that traveling down the Strip can be slow and costly.
  • Walking is another great way to see the sights along the Strip and there are elevated trams and monorails to speed things up. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as the distance between casinos can be great.
  • The Las Vegas Monorail is another way to travel from casino to casino. It travels from Sahara Avenue to the MGM Grand.
  • Bus travel is cheap and is a good way to go between the Strip and downtown. It is safe (but watching your belongings is always recommended no matter where you are) and the people watching is free entertainment during the ride.
  • A rental car can be convenient as well, especially if planning a day trip. Most casinos have large parking garages.
