Travel to Cabo San Lucas
A vacation to Los Cabos is for lovers of sun, sand, and turf (yes, “turf”). With a desert climate spawning 300+ days of sunshine per year; wide, walkable beaches; some of the most highly acclaimed golf courses in North America; and stunning all-inclusive resorts, Los Cabos meets all the requirements for an amazing vacation to Mexico.
Cabo San Lucas
Known for its high-caliber nightlife and high-quality restaurants, as well as luxury shopping, Cabo San Lucas offers a sublime and sophisticated vacation experience in and outside of the exquisite all-inclusive resorts. Be sure to visit Los Arcos/Lands End arch, the symbol of Los Cabos, located in Cabo San Lucas at the tip of the Baja peninsula.
The Corridor
It’s all about the beach in the “Corridor” with miles and miles of golden sand, perfect for strolling hand-in-hand. Be aware though that many of the beaches are perfect for strolling and sandcastles, but swimming in the strong current is not recommended. Many of the luxurious all-inclusive resorts in this area either have a golf course or are affiliated with one.
San Jose del Cabo
This Old Mexico town oozes with charm including a shady main plaza, narrow winding streets, colorful Colonial buildings, and small boutiques, alfresco restaurants, and art galleries. Hotels are on the beach, only a short walk or taxi ride to the charming town center.
Things to Do in Los Cabos
El Arco/The Arch
This distinctive landmark is the symbol of Los Cabos. Jutting out at Land’s End, between the Sea of Cortez and Pacific Ocean, this arch rock formation is the focus of many a vacation picture. Reached by boat from the Cabo San Lucas marina.
Whale Watching
More species of whales migrate to Los Cabos than anywhere else in the world. January through April is the prime gray whale watching season; you may also see blue whales and humpback whales.
Beaches
There are many beaches in the area — some safe for swimming, some not, but all are beautiful. Depending on your activity, choose the best beach:
- Lover’s Beach —A hidden cove out on Land’s End, facing the Sea of Cortez, and best reached by boat from the marina. The beach is consistently named as one of the best beaches in Mexico and is perfect for a picnic lunch and snorkeling. On the other side, facing the Pacific Ocean is Divorce Beach; the currents are strong here and swimming is not advised.
- Medano Beach —Near downtown Cabo San Lucas, the main safe swimming beach, and the place to jet ski, parasail, ride a banana boat, and more.
- Chileno Beach — Along the Corridor and recommended for families, snorkelers, and divers.
